Connect WhatsApp through Meta's official platform

What you need to connect a number to Whapiz through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API), how the two setup wizards work and what to check after.

Whapiz connects to WhatsApp through Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API). Once connected, the messages customers send to your business number land in the shared inbox, and the whole team answers from the same number. A user with the Admin profile does the connection, and the Whapiz team is there to help: email us at support@whapiz.com before you start or at any step.

What you need

Option 1: the guided setup wizard

  1. In the side menu, under Administration, click Connections. The Connections Hub opens.
  2. Click Connect WhatsApp Business API at the top of the page, or Connect on the WhatsApp Business card.
  3. In the Prerequisites step, tick the three items and click Next.
  4. In the Connect Meta step, click Connect with Meta. In Meta's window you choose your business and WhatsApp Business account, enter the number and the display name, and verify the number with a code. When you finish, the wizard moves on by itself.
  5. In the Phone Number step, make sure Phone Number ID and WhatsApp Business Account ID (WABA ID) are filled in. If they are empty, copy them from Meta Business Manager, under WhatsApp → Phone Numbers. Display Name (optional) is the connection's name inside Whapiz.
  6. In the Finalize step, check the summary and click Complete Setup. When it works you see WhatsApp Business API connected! and the number is added to the WhatsApp Connections table.

Option 2: manual setup with API details

If Meta's window doesn't open, or you already have your own app at Meta, you can connect manually: in the Connect Meta step, under Having trouble?, click Use manual token setup instead. A wizard with five steps opens:

  1. Webhook Setup: copy the Callback URL and Verify Token the wizard shows into the webhook settings of your app at Meta.
  2. Credentials: a connection name, the Phone Number ID, the WhatsApp Business Account ID and a permanent System User token. Use a permanent token, not a temporary one.
  3. Test Connection: click Run Test and the system checks the details with Meta without sending a message.
  4. Phone Registration: register the number with a 6-digit code by SMS or voice call, and keep the PIN that is shown.
  5. Save & Finish: choose queues and a Greeting message, then click Create Connection.

This is the more technical part, and that is what we are here for: write to us and we will do it with you.
